OVERVIEW

Join John Dejong, MEA Field Support Advisor and Captain Richard Birt, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue (retired) to learn more on:

  1. What is starting solar PV and energy storage system fires
  2. The practices and technologies required to prevent PV fires and ensure maximum electrical safety for tradespeople and first responders
  3. The difference between DC solar PV systems and AC solar PV systems
  4. Electrical safety lessons gained from 30 years in the field as a first responder
  5. Live Q&A

Captain Richard Birt retired from Las Vegas Fire and Rescue in 2021 after a distinguished 30-year career in the fire service. A long-time advocate of renewable energy, Captain Birt founded Solar And Fire Education (S.A.F.E.). The main aim of the S.A.F.E. program is to teach firefighters, PV installers, and electricians how to safely mitigate a residential or commercial structure fire involving solar panels and batteries.

This webinar is relevant to anyone who works in solar PV and home battery installations or is considering entering this field.
